Swimming in Kuza Cave

A cool, clear pool in a limestone cave, down a jungle path. Down a five-minute jungle path and a flight of steep steps, Kuza Cave opens into a limestone sinkhole of stalactites over a pool of clear, cool water up to about three metres deep. You swim or snorkel among the submerged formations. It's run as a community culture centre, with a Swahili house, an African history map and, if you stay longer, cooking, drumming and craft lessons. How to book: No booking needed for the cave (30–60 minutes). Turn inland at the Kuza Cave sign in Jambiani — 5–10 minutes by tuk-tuk from Jambiani or Paje.
