Scenic helicopter flights

Since June 2026, Tropic Helicopters has had two Airbus H120s based permanently on the island, flying scenic loops, island hops and resort transfers. Low over the reef channels, sandbanks and Mnemba atoll, it's the only way to take in the whole sweep of the coast. Hotels sell private 30- or 60-minute flights — Tulia Zanzibar in Pongwe offers them for up to four or six passengers — from the airport or a landing area at Kiwengwa. Priced per aircraft, so it suits groups of three to six sharing.
