Chez Hassan

A small family kitchen cooking honest Swahili food in a Jambiani lane. A modest, family-run thatched dining room on a sandy lane a little back from Jambiani beach. Much of the cooking is done by Hassan's wife: fish in coconut sauce, octopus and calamari, Swahili curries with coconut rice, roti and samosas. Reviewers call it an expat favourite for simple local food done well at fair prices. Cuisine: Swahili home cooking.
